 Bio/Background
Lisa is a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma where she graduated Booker T. Washington High School. She has a BA in Advertising & Marketing from The University of Oklahoma, and an Associates Degree in Hotel Management from Demarge College in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She worked for The Marriott and Omni Hotel Corporations for 8 years, as a sales/marketing manager, before venturing out on her own as an entrepreneur. While in the hotel industry, she facilitated and coached various "Total Quality Action Teams" which focused on employee morale, increasing productivity in the work environment, and improving communication between upper management and staff. She also designed forms and systems for the sales department to ensure efficient running of the office.
In 1996 she was called to the profession of Massage Therapy, which is when she enrolled at Wellness Skills International in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from massage school, Lisa began a successful practice for 2 years before she felt the desire to teach massage students about the realities of setting up a practice and establishing a clientele. It was at this time she went back to Wellness Skills, this time as the instructor of the Business Practices and Ethics Class for 3 years. She currently teaches continuing education workshops focusing on marketing and business management for Massage Therapists.
Lisa has been practicing massage for 13 years in Dallas, Texas and is the Owner of AGAPE’ Massage Therapy (www.agapemassage.com) which provides full body and on-site chair massage services for individuals and corporations. She is also CEO/Founder of Carpe Diem Strategies (www.carpediemstrategies.net), which provides goal setting, strategic planning, business plan writing, time management strategies, and business coaching services for Massage Therapists/Bodyworkers, Aspiring and Established Entrepreneurs, Small Businesses Owners and Non-Profit Organizations. She is CEO and Co-founder of Segue Business Solutions, Inc. where she Co-authored The Bodyworkers' Biz Planner, which is a Day Planner/Business Management Organizer, created specifically for Massage Therapists (www.bodyworkersbizplanner.com).
Her personal and business mission is "To empower others to recognize their true greatness and purpose by coaching them to achieve any goal, vision, or life dream they desire by applying her 4-P Principle: Passion, Prayer, Planning, and Perseverance."
Her Words
"I have many philosophies and principles I strive to live by to make my life more fulfilling. I truly believe that life is too precious and fleeting to simply exist, to not live your passions and dreams on a daily basis. I believe that an individual can incorporate their true passion(s) with their career if they really map out a strategy following the 4-P Process of Passion, Planning, Prayer (Faith) and Perseverance. I believe that each step is vital to success.
You can have the most wonderful career or job but if you don’t have Passion for what you are doing you will never be fulfilled. You can have an abundance of Passion for what you are doing but if you don’t have a solid Plan (Roadmap) to guide that Passion you will find yourself lost, frustrated and not achieving a thing. I believe Planning and Passion must co-exist for success to manifest in our lives. However, remember these two actions must be nurtured with Prayer (Faith) and Perseverance. There will be times when your plan is not falling into place the way you want it to or as fast as you desire. There will be times when you might not reach one of the goals you set for yourself by its due date. This is why it is important to connect to God (your higher power) on a daily basis with Prayer and keep the faith that if you continue to do your part, Persevere, and work your plan you will be blessed with fulfillment and success in the end.
